Express: Spring at Your Fingertips

It's that time of year again! Spring! Officially! Except it's not, of course. The States treats the seasonal change as happening on the 21st of the month, so we still have two more weeks of winter to drag through. Meanwhile, New Zealand has already mourned the end of summer, as in New Zealand, the seasons change on the 1st*. I have deduced that this means it is actually not summer anywhere in the world right now, which is just too depressing to even think about.

So I won't. Let's look at a pretty picture instead.

My (fingers-based) plans for spring.
My (fingers-based) plans for spring.

Nail polish is the greatest, isn't it? And of all nail polishes, Essie is the greatest of the greatest. I'm very brand-loyal towards it. I don't know why, but I suspect it's mainly because it's the most common brand in NYC nail salons, so I'm used to it. Also, it has a pleasing bottle shape (the other most common brand, OPI, has disturbingly ugly bottles). Also, it has the best colours.

Just look at those beauties above! I'm usually none too adventurous with my nail polish. I like pale pink on my fingers and classic red on my toenails. At the moment, however, all I want is bright nails, pointing the way towards a brighter future. Spring. It's on its way, people.

What nail polish colours do you prefer? Anyone else mark the seasons with their fingers?

*I don't know which country is officially right - neither? Both? I grew up thinking spring started on the 1st, so that still seems more correct to me. I'm prepared to admit that it may not be, however.
