Hello all! I hope it's been a great week for all of you, and that you all have a great weekend planned. My week was super-lovely, marked by an evening out with friends, a couple of exciting meetings with some exciting people, and not one but two days where it was downright hot. I wore a dress both days and accessorised with fake tan, in order not to blind innocent bystanders. Happy times.
It took a turn for the worse yesterday, however, when a scratchy throat that I had been ignoring flared up into a full-on cold. It's just a cold, so whatever, but they do tend to hit me hard - and I do not want to be sick this weekend. I have spent today doing a little work, a bit of extra sleeping, and virtually mainlining water and kiwifruit* in a bid to get better quickly. I don't know what I'm going to have for dinner tonight, but I guarantee garlic will be involved. Any other cold remedies you can recommend?
Provided I get better overnight, which I WILL**, I'm going to make the most of the mild, sunny weekend that's in store - but in a nicely chilled out way that will also let me recuperate. Smorgasburg opened up again last weekend, and the restaurants on the Highline open up again tomorrow, so I'm thinking something food-related could be fun to do. Or maybe just a trip to a new and different neighbourhood. I'm in an exploring mood!
For now, though, I'm just going to keep resting, and working on making myself better for the weekend! All I really want right now is to not be sick, but I must also admit that I'm kind of wanting this duvet cover. Doesn't that look gorgeous? And comfy? And the perfect place to recuperate? And also, like something that would really be asking for trouble?
